Microsoft $44 Billion Bid on Yahoo!

Feb 4, 2008

Microsoft the world’s most popular brand in technology made a $44 Billion Bid on Yahoo! Inc. on Friday 1/2/08. Yahoo, the most viewed site till date and attracts more than 500 million people monthly to its sites. Microsoft is trying to turn from a producer of software products to a service provider for people surfing the net. Microsoft is targeting an emerging $80 Billion digital market, rivaling Google. Yahoo leads Banner ads while Google leads search ads.

Microsoft has an research and development center in Hyderabad while Yahoo has one in Bangalore and in Mumbai. If Microsoft actually takes over Yahoo, it would be the biggest internet takeover in the technology history and obviously if the powers of Yahoo! and Microsoft are combined, it will surely give a biggest ever direct competition to Google!!
