Today while updating post, as soon as I clicked on “Publish”, I got this error:

Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to submissions.ask.com:80 (Connection refused) in /home/blogging/public_html/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php on line 1148

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/blogging/public_html/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php:1148) in /home/blogging/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 890

Then after further investigation, I found out that it was due to SEO-XML-Sitemap plugin that this error was coming up. Basically, this is because submissions.ask.com which is automatically notified by the SEO-XML-Sitemap plugin every time a post has been made/updated is down/unreachable and so WP gives this error and we are unable to make a new post or update an older post.

So all I did to correct this was untick “Notify Ask.com about updates of your Blog” from inside the SEO-XML-Sitemap plugin’s settings.

A month ago I wrote a post on how to install CyanogenMod 6.1.2 (Froyo 2.2) on  Commtiva Z1 and it’s variants, which are:

Instructions for installing CyanogenMod 6.1:

ATTENTION: THIS WOULD WIPE ALL DATA FROM YOUR PHONE (NOT FROM THE SDCARD). SO PLEASE BACKUP ALL YOUR CONTACTS (OPEN CONTACTS AND EXPORT THEM TO A FILE), MESSAGES (USE “MY BACKUP” FOR THIS) AND APPLICATIONS (AGAIN YOU MAY USE “MY BACKUP” OR “TITANIUM BACKUP”)

Also, if you follow all my instructions correctly, after installing CyanogenMod, you can anytime revert back to your current stock rom incase you encounter any problems.

Follow the steps as it is:

1) Install the Oficial ROM 226D using the TOOLS (RUT or SUT)

2) Download the following and put them on your sd card:

CyanogenMod ROM 6.1.2 Final » http://uploading.com/files/mmm9a32b/update-cm-6.1.2-Z71-signed.zip/

Camera Patch: http://64.38.236.5/~bajirutc/android/Patch_Cam_CM-6.1.2-Z71.zip

Google Apps » http://uploading.com/files/bb31bacb/gapps-mdpi-20101020-signed.zip/

3) Get the “RomManager” app from market

4) In “RomManager” select “Flash ClockworkMod Recovery”

5) Select “Commtiva Z71″ phone (compatible with Boston and clones)

6) Copy the rom update-cm-6.1.0-Z71-signed.zip and the Google Apps zip file to sdcard

7) In “RomManager” select “Install ROM from sdcard” and choose the Rom file

Select both the options ie 1. Backup existing rom and 2. Wipe data and cache and click “Okay”

9) Now it will automatically boot into recovery and start the installation, this process would take a lot of time upto 25 mins, so be patient.

10) Phone will now automatically reboot, again as it is a fresh install, it will take a lot for time for it to boot for the first time.

11) Open “Rom Manager” and click “Boot into recovery”

12) You will now be booted into the recovery console.

13) Here use the volume buttons to scroll up and down and the trackball to select an option (and back softkey to go back).

14) Due to some problem with the recovery, clicking volume button once, makes it go down 2 options, so you need to be fast and click the trackball instantly after clicking the volume up/down button (this is if you need to select the option below where you currently are)

15) Select “Install update from sdcard” and select your Google Apps file

16) Again, select “Install update from sdcard” and select the Camera Patch file

17) Hit the back button and select “Reboot Phone”

18) Enjoy Froyo!

Reverting back to your Stock ROM incase of any problems:

After going to my computer you will see an extra drive in your pc which is not a part of your pc’s internal hard disk. You can enter into the device by double clicking or choosing open or explore opting. That’s the way to access this device.
Problem of virus:
During accessing this device your computer or memory card can be affected by different types of virus. It can come from your pc to your phone card or can be from your phone card to your pc. If you enter into the card directly then if the virus is in your card it will directly enter into your pc. And if you copy something which contain virus it will affect your cell phone card. So it’s better to open the card exploring the device. This is a safe way to access removal device.
Now the question is how to protect from password hacker? If you don’t want everyone can access your device then you can give password to your device. Then when accessing this card it will ask for password and it the given password is correct then you have the ability of accessing the device. But there are many password hackers available. So it’s better to give a password combination of symbol, digit and char. It will make your password stronger and can give you the maximum protection.

Technology has made life quite easier for us. Technology is so deeply embedded in our lives that we in fact cannot think of what life could be like in case we did not have technology to assist us.  How our forefathers might have lived without the aid of technology is beyond our comprehension? Technology is no longer kept in the periphery of our world. It is not anymore the tool of the rich and the powerful. It is in fact an integral part of our world, used and enjoyed by the rich and the poor alike. It is not just a part of our world; it is the heart of our world. Technology is a true boon to our society.
